How are you able to sense your body parts with closed eyes or even in a dark room?

So, what is this Kinesthetic sense, is it similar to other five senses of body?

Kinesthesis also refers to Kinesthesia, is perception of body movements. It involves being able to detect changes in body position and movement without relying on information on five senses. Kinesthetic senses provide information about positions and movement of muscles and joints.

You are using your Kinesthetic sense in your normal life while walking, running, driving, dancing, swimming and anything that requires your body movement.

WHAT DOES YOUR KINESTHETIC SENSE DO?

As said above that these senses provide info even when your eyes are closed or you are in a dark room thereby letting you can still sense your body parts. This sense gives us information about where are body parts are with respect to each other and allow us to perform movement. Know as Kinesthesia.

Kinesthetic receptors are available in muscles which send information to the brain about the load of the muscle and degree of contraction. Other receptors are in joints. The kinesthetic receptors provide sense of equilibrium of the body. When this sensitivity is destroyed, one may not be in a position to maintain the balance of the body parts, with sense you make distinction between objects of different weight by lifting. This snse keep track of body movement and body position in relation to gravity.

HOW CAN THIS SENSE HELP YOU IN LEARNING NEW STUFF?

Well there are kinesthetic learners too. How we classify them as Kinesthetic learner? Are you one among them??

An individual kinesthetic sense of learning style would learn best by doing or actually performing an action.

{To get a distinction between kinesthetic learners and others.

Some learn best by listening others, some by seeing somebody performing that action (visual learners), etc}

So a kinesthetic learner would learn football in best way if s/he given football in a field allowed to practice by actually swinging football in air not just by reading how it happens or seeing somebody doing it.

Kinesthetic learners are best in activities that involve movement e.g. Football, Soccer, Dancing etc

Kinesthetic learners are thought to enjoy being physically active, tend to excel sports and have fast reaction times.

Remember one thing every person has their style of learning so do you, so just keep discovering new things until you settle on one and shift to discovering something more dynamic.
